A New Season of Stories & Songs
As summer wanes and autumn begins, here is a poem titled: Summer’s Serenity.
As kids go back to school and we transition into new activities, work and life routines, I will go on writing and singing my way through the next season. During the fall, I love reading new books, enjoying the cooling down of the weather, and experiencing holiday events with family and friends.
Though I'm not sure what the fall of 2021 will bring, I'm hopeful that there will be time to read, write, sing, create and celebrate together. Here are some of my upcoming writing and musical projects!
✍I’m turning my writing focus back to my novels-in-progress, including an epic fantasy for YA readers and a historical romance for adults. While I won’t be sharing full chapters online, I do plan to share inspirations and perhaps, character bios & short snippets in the future as both of these novels take shape.
✍️I’ve recently joined a local writers’ group, the Bayou Writer’s Club. With over 400 members across New Orleans’ North and South shores, this club offers writerly support and growth through monthly workshops and critique groups. While I wasn’t able to participate much over the summer, I’m hopeful that I can become more active this fall.

🎵In my musical life, I’m eagerly awaiting the premiere of The Stay at Home Choir’s Locus Iste project with Gareth Malone on August 28th. Following that, I’m looking forward to joining them for a new project (still under wraps!) in September. The biggest news I can share for this wonderful choir is that we are currently completing recordings for an album, which includes beautiful pieces from living (and dead) composers - and will drop this November!
🎼I will also be joining The Self-Isolation Choir (newly minted The Choir of the Earth) for Musical Medleys this month (concert premiering in October 9th), and am excitedly anticipating SIC’s concert premiere of Opera Choruses on October 2nd. As soon as I have concert and/or song links I will post them here!

Be well! ☺️✍️🎼-Stacie
