Why Childhood Cancer Awareness Matters, September 2024

In September 2023, I shared a post for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month outlining the symptoms my child, Sadie, had prior to diagnosis of a cancerous brain tumor. To read that post, click here: https://www.stacieeirich.com/post/for-childhood-cancer-awareness-month

This September for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I’m sharing a series of short videos from our journey to Sadie’s cure. They were taken from December 2022-September 2023, while we lived in Memphis through cancer treatments at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

These videos are a testament to Sadie’s strength, resilience, creativity and how we found light through darkness. Most importantly, they are a window into the life of a pediatric cancer patient and why childhood cancer awareness matters.

In addition to our Hope for Sadie playlist, I want to share a podcast episode that Sadie and I were honored to be able to do together. We were invited on Mark Levine’s Help and Hope Happen Here, a podcast that focuses on childhood cancer.

In this 60 minute episode, we outline our journey from diagnosis through the end of treatments and Sadie’s current status of NED — No Evidence of Disease. We hope sharing it will help other pediatric cancer patients & families and spread awareness of childhood cancer. 💛🎗️Go Gold for the Cure with us, and help support research for pediatric cancer cures! We’ve set up a fundraiser with The Cure Starts Now this September, 2024. In honor of our warrior & survivor Sadie, and the kids who are fighting pediatric cancer today — please consider making a donation. Every dollars matters and will help save our children. Click on Sadie’s Heart of Gold or on the link below to donate.
